What's new on DogDB, what has changed and what's coming next.

All DogDB news is now here

What's new on the site, what has changed and what's coming next, all in one place.

DogDB in Russian, Spanish and Chinese

The site now works in four languages: English, Russian, Spanish and Chinese. The interface, emails and reference catalogues are translated.

Dog show results on the site

Dog cards now have show results, visible after signing in, which is free. Some come from published show catalogues, and you can add the rest yourself.

Suggest an idea

Members now have a “Suggest an idea” button. We read everything and will tell you what we've done.

Hide a single result

You can now hide one row instead of all shows or all health results. It's available to confirmed owners on Premium Owner and Premium Breeder.

New COI calculation

The inbreeding coefficient now uses Wright's path method. If your dog's COI has changed, this is probably why.

Share a dog

Dog cards now have a “Share” button for registered members: a link, social media and a widget with three pedigree generations.

Show pages and litter cards

Each show now has its own page and each litter its own card. Entries, rings and puppy names are visible after signing in, which is free.

Title catalogue

Pick a title from a catalogue covering different federations, or write it as text. Titles can now be searched and filtered.

Fullscreen pedigree

Pedigrees now open fullscreen: 5 generations on the Free plans, up to 10 on Premium Owner and Premium Breeder.

Meet DogDB

The official DogDB beta is live at dogdb.club. Registration is open, no invitation needed.

Search in the header

On wide screens, search is now in the header of every page, with suggestions as you type.

DogDB's new design

The dog card now looks like a passport, on wide screens Ctrl+K or ⌘K jumps to search, and document recognition reads pedigrees of up to six generations.

Pedigree from a scan

Upload a scan or photo of a pedigree. An AI model reads it and finds known ancestors, and you decide what to save.

Colours by federation

A colour recognised by one federation may not be recognised by another. The site now accounts for this across all 302 breeds.

Carrier probability from the pedigree

The site now estimates carrier probability from the pedigree and shows what each estimate is based on. It's not a diagnosis and doesn't replace a test.

Ownership confirmation

Owners can claim their dog's card and confirm their kennel with a document. Every edit is visible in the change log.
